5 For Friday

Wow!  Another week has come and gone.  Summer school is almost done and I am ready for a break!   Please be sure to click on the picture above and join in with Doodle Bugs Teaching and tell us about your week!

Thank you to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah for the cute numbers!!

This is a picture of what my new mailbox looks like. I didn't want a new mailbox.   I had a perfectly fine one.  But because some people are dishonest, we had to buy a locking mailbox!  Our neighbor did too.  I didn't even know these things even existed.  But I am glad they do.   It's a shame to have to do this because others can't keep their hands out of our mailbox and  from taking our mail.  :(

This was my supper the other night...I know...Not the best of suppers.  But I decided all of the vegetables in the salsa counted that night for a healthy dish.  Oh and the chips are made from corn...another vegetable!

This week's coffee flavor is Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla.  I like last week's Starbucks, but I like Dunkin Donuts even better!  Put in a little half and half or milk and I am good to go.

I have several students in summer school that are needing to work on hearing beginning, middle, and ending sounds in short vowel words.  We have had a lot of fun and some really good practice using this activity from my Spring Literacy Centers Pack.  Some easy Summer School Fun to maintain our skills!

Today is our weekly field trip day for summer school!  This week we are taking a walking tour through a cave. The cave was used during the civil war by the Union soldiers to store ammunition and equipment.  It had also been used by American Indians.  Lots of history and maybe some bats in this week's field trip!

  3. I woud avoid the bats, but your adventure in the cave sounds very interesting. By the way, your new mailbox looks impenetrable.

  7. Boo on the mail situation. But, thanks for the tip on the locking mailbox. Hopefully I will never need one.
I have a coffee suggestion for you, if you want to fool with ordering. We have a roaster in the town where we live that is wonderful. They do all the serious coffees. They also do some totally wonderful flavored coffees. They are at viennacoffeecompany.com. Maybe you will have time to check them out this summer when your break finally begins.
    Have a great weekend.

  8. How aweful that someone would tamper with your mail. We don't have individual mailboxes in our neighborhoods anymore, I guess, maybe because of that....now, even in neighborhoods with single family homes, we have the apartment style locked mailboxes.

  16. Tanya, I am glad that your mailboxes are secure. It's a shame we have to go to that.
