This is not an Elf on the Shelf book.  This rhyming elf book is about a different elf.  Funny with bright pictures that students will love!

A Wish to Be a Christmas Tree is such a sweet story about true friendship that will surely touch your students' hearts about what is really important!  Love it!

How Santa Got His Job is a fun book with lots of references to abilities Santa demonstrates in different jobs that will become important later in his final job as Santa!  This will be a fun book for students to use for text evidence!

Two last books with the favorite characters of Pout Pout and Bear round out the holiday read aloud list!

Christmas Door Decoration

Does your school have a door decorating contest?  We do!  This was a blast!  Everyone who came in our school loved this 3D display.  Students really enjoyed it!

The snowman was the most time consuming part.  It took quite a few cups too.  But we purposely picked something that would last past Christmas so it could stay up longer.

The Christmas trees were pretty easy compared to the snowman!  Students made the snowflakes.

Fun Christmas Holiday Party Games Minute to Win It Games

If you are needing a game for your classroom Christmas party, this Marshmallow Toss is fun!  We used some old Christmas wreaths and hot glued them to some boxes that were wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper.  Students had one minute to stand behind the line and throw as many miniature marshmallows into their team's box as they can.  Cheap and easy game that students really enjoy!

Fun Christmas Activities for elementary Christmas Flip booksFun Holiday Christmas Activities Christmas Flip Books

A fun, but thoughtful Christmas activity is a flip book!  Rather than have students thinking of long lists of toys, it's nice to have them think of one thing they want, one thing they need, one thing to wear and one thing to read.  I know some parents use a guide similar to this for their gift giving!

Similar to this is Gifts I Will GIVE.  This flip book is a good way to get students thinking about giving instead of receiving.  And to take it a step farther...you can have them think of gifts they can make or activities they can do to fit each of the categories so they don't even need to be concerned with how much things cost.  You can find the flip books here!

Another fun Christmas activity for the classroom is task cards!  Fun holiday task cards for your centers and fluency task cards with a Christmas voice cube to roll and read in a reindeer, Santa or other holiday character!  Fun, fun!

I think we are set now for a really FUN and memorable December!
